Shipping Hatching Eggs

We ship eggs in groups of 12. Shipping is included in the pricing. If you would like to make a custom order of different breeds, please send us a message and we will happily put the custom order together for you!

We test weekly for fertility. We do not guarantee hatch rates. Your results may range from 0% to 100%. You are purchasing fertile eggs, not live chicks. Please do not order hatching eggs unless you understand and accept this risk.

We ship all eggs in foam egg shippers. I cannot guarantee nor can I be responsible for USPS mistreatment of the box.  We cannot guarantee hatch rates due to a variety of factors (i.e. shipping and handling, incubation methods, etc.) beyond our control. If you do not feel comfortable with this risk, please reconsider your purchase. Shipped hatching eggs are always a risk, but we do our best to accommodate any issues or concerns. Because of these variables, we do not offer refunds or replacements for unhatched eggs. We do not receive postage refunds from USPS, so we kindly ask for your understanding on this.

We may include a couple of extra hatching eggs but this is not guaranteed.

Please note that the estimated delivery date on your tracking number is just that—an estimate. While we do our best to carefully package and ship your order on time, we cannot guarantee exact arrival times once the package is in the hands of the carrier. For that reason, we do not offer refunds on shipping costs or hatching eggs if your package arrives later than expected.

Shipping and handling is non-refundable regardless of circumstance.

Shipping Live Chicks

At Black Creek Acres Farm, the health and safety of your chicks are our top priority. Please review our live arrival policy below before placing your order. We guarantee 100% live arrival of the chicks you purchase within 24 hours of delivery/pick up from USPS. Whenever possible, we include extra chicks at no additional charge to help ensure you receive the full number you ordered.

Shipping is $75 flat rate for up to 25 chicks shipping via USPS Priority Express. 

We take great care to package and ship your chicks responsibly. Including extras is our way of protecting your order, but please remember that live animal shipping carries inherent risks. By ordering from Black Creek Acres Farm  you agree to the terms of this policy.


Shipments are scheduled to minimize stress and risk during transit.

You are responsible for communication with your local USPS office, to make sure you are notified IMMEDIATELY when your chick order has arrived. 
 
If you do not receive the number of live chicks you purchased, you must notify us within 24 hours of pick-up from your local USPS office.

Clear photos of all deceased chicks as well as live chicks required for refund. We do not ship replacement chicks. Instead, we provide a refund for the cost of any deceased chicks from your order. Refunds apply only to purchased chicks - not to extras we may include.

Shipping and handling is non-refundable regardless of circumstance.

Day Old Chick Purchase (LOCAL PICK UP & SHIPPED): All of our day-old chicks are sold as straight run which means you will receive a mix of males and females, as determined naturally. We do not vent sex chicks, and we cannot guarantee the number or ratio of roosters to hens in your order. By purchasing straight run chicks, you understand that your order may include all males, all females, or a combination of both. We are unable to offer refunds or replacements based on the gender of the chicks received. The only exception to this policy is with auto-sexing breeds—such as 55 Flowery Hen and Bielefedler—where chicks can be visually sexed at hatch due to their markings. DO NOT ORDER CHICKS IF YOU CANNOT AGREE TO THIS POLICY. 

Payment

Full payment is due before hatching egg or day old chicks at preorder. We respect your privacy and never share or sell your personal information with any third parties. IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO ACCEPT YOUR ORDER WHEN WE CONTACT YOU WITH YOUR SHIPPING INFORMATION, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ACCEPT THE EGGS / CHICKS OR HAVE ANOTHER PERSON ACCEPT THEM ON YOUR BEHALF. IF YOU CANCEL YOUR ORDER, WE KEEP A 100% OF PURCHASE FEE OF YOUR MONEY DUE TO THE PROCESS FEES AND DISRUPTION OF ORDER PROCESSES TO SHIFT ALL ORDERS, TIMELINESS AND EGG COUNTS. THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE, DO NOT PURCHASE EGGS IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS POLICY.

Cancellations

All cancellations must be made before a shipping notice or tracking number is issued you will recieve ZERO refund for hatching eggs. Once eggs are packaged and assigned for shipment, orders cannot be canceled. YOU are responsible once your order is delivered to care for or set up someone to care for your purchased hatching eggs. Please only order hatching eggs if you are fully committed to the process and accept the risks involved. We are a small, family-run hatchery, and last-minute cancellations create waste and lost opportunities to serve other customers.

 

Once I incubate eggs for chick orders there will be no refunds.

Feedback

We greatly appreciate your feedback! Please base your review on our customer service, communication, packaging, and egg quality upon arrival, rather than hatch rates, which are outside our control.

We are a small scale hatchery - we raise and collect eggs from a small number of selected birds. So it may take a bit longer to ship. There may be a wait of several weeks or months for certain breeds.  Reach out and we can give you an estimation of ship time. Please know that it's because we're committed to sending you the healthist, freshest, most fertile eggs possible.
